YouTube has confirmed has they will be stopping the most irritating 30-second unskippable ad format. According to the news, this ad format will be killed in 2018 and instead, Google plans to introduce more frequent six-second unskippable ads starting next year.

We’re committed to providing a better ads experience for users online. As part of that, we’ve decided to stop supporting 30-second unskippable ads as of 2018 and focus instead on formats that work well for both users and advertisers.
Ads shorter than 30-seconds, including the 20-second spots, can be made unskippable. YouTube introduced the six-second unskippable bumper ad format last April.
